Creative Work
This watercolour was done for a good friend who adored big cats. It was inspired by a photograph of a tiger cub, I liked the mixture of confidence, playfulness and innocence about this youngster! Compared to the photo, my take appears more 'human'. It's interesting how personal bias can be subconsciously expressed. The painting marks a significant moment for me as it was the first time I picked up a paintbrush after 5 years. The style is infused with my appreciation of Chinese paintings, which value lightness.
